15th Apartment Cleaned and Furnished for Adopt-An-Apartment Program

On January 22nd, members of Trinity and St. James Pitman completed the cleaning and furnishing of a 15th apartment for the Brethren Housing Association’s (BHA) Adopt-An-Apartment Program. This apartment located in Harrisburg is a first and second floor, two-bedroom residence which will become a home for a young mother and her family.  Thanks to all for donating, collecting and transporting the furniture and other household items and for helping to clean and set up this apartment to make it a home for this family.

BHA has programs or partners with other organizations to help young mothers become self-sufficient. Included is job training/seeking/maintaining services, parenting education, life skills training, counseling services, and youth programs for the kids. BHA staff and volunteers continuously show these moms the love and care they need to develop and realize their own self-worth, empowering them to overcome the obstacles that lead them to the homelessness situation.
