June/July Highlights
Rite of Confirmation
Congratulations Confirmands
Four candidates were confirmed as they affirmed their baptism. God have us a beautiful day and extended family attended worship to embrace this important day in the lives of four members of our congregation:
Madelyn Bowman
Noah Dunkelberger
Daxton Mauer
Jude Zimmerman
Moms and Dads, we cannot compliment you enough that you saw your children to confirmation and worship. And the confirmands themselves – who encountered the Apostles Creed, Lord’s Prayer and Ten Commandments and hopefully had some fun along the way. Almighty God said “yes” to these four young people when they were baptized. Now, on their Confirmation Day, these four young people said “yes” to God. Praise be to God!
True North at Vacation Bible School (VBS)
At VBS this year, we explored how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS showed our kiddos that Jesus is a faithful friend we can always trust. Jesus is our True North! Thanks to all who made this week possible.
Baptism
Baptism of Oliver Irvine Neiswender
Trinity baptized Oliver Irvine Neiswender into our fellowship on July 5, 2025, at our Saturday 5:00 PM worship. Oliver was brought to the font by his parents, Matthew and Katelyn Neiswender. We extend our love and support to Oliver as he grows in his knowledge and faith in the Word of God. I shared the following Sunday that Yvonne Specht offered a reception after the service which Oliver’s mother accepted. Next Saturday at 5:00 PM the whole family was back in worship. His mother received confirmation instruction from Pastor Shankweiler. Praise be to God and Congratulations one and all!
Youth Service
There were fifteen young people who attended our Youth Service on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM. The service was from the “Fighting Fair Series”, What is Reconciliation. Watch for the next one. All are welcome.
Not Only Fireworks
Fourth of July takes us back to Independence Hall, Our Forebearers: Washington, Henry, Jefferson, et al. The colonies and our ancestors as they were birthing a nation. July 4th weekend Trinity recaptured Colonial Times when Henry Melchior Muhlenberg was transplanting the Lutheran Church here in the colonies. One of his bases was Trappe, PA. He and a few other pastors constructed a liturgy for the German Lutherans which Pastor brought with him to Trinity. We utilized that service to relive the times in worship.
