June and July Highlights

Vacation Bible School – Hero Hotline!

A great time was had by all as we were called together to serve God!! Our Hero Verse for the week was “So let’s strive for the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up!” (Romans 14:10) The kids were busy with super fun songs, great crafts, interesting science experiments, fun games, bible lessons and the crazy antics of our SuperHero, “Super Meer”! A recap of this fun week will be done at our Rally Day in September. Thank you to all of the teachers, helpers and kids who make this week super amazing!!

Mission Trip to Charleston, SC!

A huge THANK YOU to our Trinity family for sponsoring
our Mission Trip to Charleston, South Carolina!

We stayed at the Ridge Baptist Church where we sang, danced and worshiped with other Christians from all over the country. Our kids were super excited and helpful at the church with meals and other hospitality tasks and ended up winning the “Golden Plunger” at the end of the week for being the group that volunteered and helped the most! Every day we spent volunteering at a retirement village. With the residents we puzzled, played bingo, took dogs for walks, played cards, did chair yoga, arranged flowers, and just spent time with them. We made so many wonderful new friends, and we pray that the week we spent there was as rewarding to the residents as it was to us! And, of course at the church we had to perform one of our lip sync acts!! We even performed for our friends at the retirement home. On our free night we took a ferry to Fort Sumpter and had a delicious meal in downtown Charleston. This trip was only possible through the generosity of our Trinity family, and we appreciate it greatly!

21st Apartment Cleaned and Furnished for Brethren Housing Association (BHA)

On June 28th, members of Trinity and St. James Pitman completed the cleaning and furnishing of a 21st apartment for the Brethren Housing Association’s Adopt-An-Apartment Program. Located in Harrisburg, this apartment is a first floor, two-bedroom residence which will become a home for a young mother and her children.  . As always, a big thank-you to all who helped clean, and for donating and transporting the items needed to complete the furnishing of this apartment and helping to make it a home for this young mother and her family.

Agape Table Meal

June’s Agape meal was enjoyed by 73 people, plus we had enough leftover food to send hot dogs, buns, chips, and cupcakes to Haven Ministries in Sunbury. July’s Agape meal served 71 meals. Again, we had enough to share with Haven Ministries. Thanks to Robin Otto for delivering the leftovers both months.
